Nor will Julie Lee heed the calls for her to resign from the Housing Authority. Jeanette is being evicted so Lee—a multi-millioaire landlord—can demolish Jeanette’s 3 unit apartment building and replace it with a new 3 unit apartmenmt building, which will not be covered by rent control (purusant to state law exempting new construction from rent control).
