Get Engaged! - Ira Ruskin scored 100% on EQCA PAC’s candidate questionnaire. He is in a tight race with a candidate who opposes marriage equality. Steve Poizner did not respond to the EQCA questionaire and has publicly stated his opposition to marriage equality for same-sex couples.
Ira Ruskin is hosting a Marriage Equality Rally at his campaign headquarters at 3898 El Camino Real in Palo Alto on Saturday, October 23rd at 1:00 p.m. Scheduled speakers include EQCA Associate Director Molly McKay, Assemblymember Mark Leno, Assemblymember John Laird, 16 year-old Marina Gatto andher two moms, Ramona Gatto andArzu Akus.
“Passing the Marriage License Non-Discrimination Act is the most important legislative priority for our organization andour community,” said Molly McKay, Associate Executive Director of Equality California. “We must support candidates who support full LGBT equality, anything less than support for marriage equality is not a LGBT-friendly candidate.”
The rally will be followed by precinct walking. On Sunday, October 24th, EQCA SF Chapter Leaders Stuart Gaffney andJohn Lewis, plaintiffs in California’s Marriage Litigation, will be leading precinct walking from 12:30 pmto 4:00 pmat that same location. The campaign can be reached at 650-213-8358.

didn't you folks learn anything from that debacle disguised as a caravan?
if they publicize an event one day in advance, then they don't have to complain about low turnout. they can just say it was because they didn't tell anyone about it in advance, so it is amazing that all these people did come.
i deleted a lot of candidate info about this dude before i posted that stuff, by the way. you can look up hisname dot com and find him.

The headline should have said "Palo Alto".
That would have attracted persons in or near Palo Alto.
Such geographic headlining
would also have avoided wasting
this SF queer's time.
I'm sometimes willing to attend MECA pickets,
IF these are reachable by SF Muni;
or by walking in downtown SF.
But I'm certainly NOT going to Palo Alto;
because:
(1) No bus directions were given.
(2) Busfare would be expensive; and probably inconvenient.
(3) My "Tenderloin homeless/underclass" appearance
would only alienate
suburban onlookers.....
