Report from early voting in Florida

As you may know, there is now early voting going on in Florida. My mom is in
Boca Raton trying to vote.

Yesterday, lines were around the block and on two separate occasions, she
went to vote and was told it would be at least two hours. Apparently they
could only process 60 people per hour. Many people were elderly and waiting
in line with walkers. (She was also told she could not get an absentee
ballot that she had requested, and told that the absentee ballots had to be
filled out with No. 2 pencil or they would be disqualified). Also, they
apparently they started having problems with the machines last night.

So she went back today to vote. The polls were supposed to open at 9:00 am.
My mom got there at 10:30, only to find that all the machines were down and
no one would be able to vote. So she¹s been waiting on line for the last
hour and a half. Apparently, all the machines are screwed up and they¹re in
the process of replacing them all. Which she¹s been told will take until
1:00 pm at earliest. So the representative from her district just came down
to try to get things moving, and the people working at the polls told him
³no comment, have a nice day.² There are all kinds of media there as well
who are being stonewalled by the elections workers.
