I used to visit the UK every year. I love the history and culture of your country. But after I heard about your campaign to influence our elections, I've decided that neither myself, nor my family will ever visit again. I'm offended by your campaign and because of it, I'm remembering more of the negative aspects I've seen in the UK than the positive ones. Though I still love the castles!

Not all of us human beings who live on the North American continent, within the boundaries that are so-named The United States of America, share in the immature, inhumane, and short-sighted remarks that you've read in this forum.
Some of us Americans realize that the world is becoming smaller and smaller, that the propaganda bought-into by the masses of Americans via the 24x7 television news and entertainment industry only fools some, not all; especially those who make it their chief goal to come home from work every day and allow their eyes to glaze over as they grab a beer, sit on their couches, and literally "plug" themselves into the illusionary world that the television brings.
Some of us Americans realize that going to war rather than seeking diplomatic solutions is an archaic and simple-minded approach to complex world issues. Some of us view this mindset as red-neck, hic-town, school-boy mentality ("Hey, let's go kick their asses.").
Weakness is fighting instead of seeking amicable solutions. Strength is articulating a mutually agreable solution where everyone wins. We are living on a planet of human beings, everyone of them worthy of love, respect, and freedom. The United States of America is a wonderful place to live right now, and I'm grateful that I was born here to experience the life that I have for the past 39 years, however, I am ashamed and embarrassed by the mentality of some of the masses, that American's are somehow better than the rest of the world. We all have an opportunity to learn from each other, each nation. It's time we all grow up and start thinking about the long term. Going to war is only escalating world fear and promoting a, "we're tougher than them" mentality. Who'll try to show up who next? I'm tired of hearing "God bless America." If there is a god I'm sure he looks at the whole planet of human beings as worthy of being blessed, not just America.
So, world, please listen, there are millions here in America who are grateful for your existence. For our opportunity to share and learn from you. Please be patient with us as we are going through our own growth, lessons. We have given a lot to the rest of the world over the decades, so we're not all bad, I'm sure you'll agree. Please also be patient with Mr. Bush (whom I didn't vote for). He's just a man and is imperfect. Could you handle that pressure?
To my fellow Americans who are writing in this forum please spend a little more time thinking before you speak such immature statements. Your words harmful and are an embarrassment to me and many other Americans.

If enough soliders die the next election could go in a different direction. Aside from the public being upset over the deaths, many soliders are from Ohio and Florida and since they largely voted Republican, one more dead soldier means one fewer vote for a Republican in a swing state.

America has become polarized. The citizens of America have strong ties with their beliefs. Unfortunatly one side of the coin involves Bush and his followers consisting of brainless/ruthless americans similiar to those leaders of british history that caused chaos to world. Just wanted to make a point. HALF of America voted for Bush and are disheartened, sickened, angry, etc., just like the rest of the world is that Bush is president again for another 4 years. We feel just like you! Imagine that. Please do not affiliate all of the American people with Bush's actions. Kerry's voters were shocked and sickened to see that over half of the country voted for Bush. We simply couldn't believe it. I took a day off from work it was so depressing to me.
If you look at the electoral map you'll notice that the voters who voted for Bush for the most part are NOT in the major metropolitan areas, where the intellectual capital of our nation is (in my opinion). Those that voted for bush are mainly in the Midwest (mainly lower). Have you been to these places? Have you compared them to the major metropolitin areas? Many of us in America think of people in the Midwest a little behind the times, often less educated, and much more prone to prejudice, patriotism, and supremacy.
Please, take a deep breath and calm down. Again, remember that half of the Americans are as angry as you are. Is it fair to hate this half too? Believe me, we who DIDN'T vote for Bush feel your anger and pain. We have it to. Maybe even more! We are dismayed and depressed about it. Many of us have thought about leaving the country because of it. That's how much it angers us. Furthermore, I'm the father of 3 boys who are draft age. I certainly don't them going to war killing people for no reason.
Please watch Farenheit 911. Remember who made it...an American. There are 50% of the people in the US who feel that Bush is a snake, just like that film pointed out. Many of us want to barf when we see cars driving down the road with US flags mounted on them waving proudly in the air, cars with "God Bless America" on them. Many of us wish the bumper stickers said "God Bless this Planet."
Okay, enough repetition. If those who are reading this forum cannot see this point that I've made and continue to want to have anger towards the entirety of the US population, then they'll have to live with that choice. I think it would be completely immature, but again, perhaps that's all this forum is, a bunch of young kids screaming at each other with profanities.
World peace comes about through LOVE, not hatred. Start focusing your energies and thoughts on more loving things. Hatred only adds to this already negative situation that exists.
