PALESTINIAN/ISRAELI PHYSICIANS REPORT
on the health effects of Occupation
PHYSICIANS FOR HUMAN RIGHTS-ISRAEL (PHR-Israel) speak together, as Arab and
Jewish Israelis, to offer a vision to a better and just society that has a
decent, respectful relationship with its neightbors. PHR-Israel includes
over 1000 phsycians who actively counteract Israli human rights violations
and provide health care where it is otherwise denied.
DR. MATANI HASSAN is a surgeon and family doctor who has worked at the
Hillel-Yafe medical center of Hadera (Israel), practices at an outpatient
clinic for Israeli Health Services, and is active with Physicians for Human
Rights-Isr! ael since 1988.
DR. RUCHAMA MARTON is a psychiatrist, feminist, and President/founder of
Physicians for Human Rights-Israel . Her publications include Torture: Human
Rights, Medical Ethics and the Case of Israel (edited with Neve Gordon).
She has received several peace and human rights awards.
