Reasons to Not Work for Cycorp of Austin, Texas

by Ex-Employee of Cycorp
Several ex-employees of Cycorp, a defense contractor, have found themselves the target of politically motivated online harassment.
At least four persons with left leaning political views have been harassed online upon leaving the employ of Cycorp, a defense contractor in Austin, Texas. In one case the harassment has endured for two and a half years complete with demands that this ex-employee take down his political website and not post any political commentary online.

Cycorp works for DARPA and the CIA. In its capacity working for DARPA, Cycorp contracted for the Information Awareness Office, formerly under the direction of convicted felon and Iran/Contra scandal figure, John Poindexter.

In the case of the employee harassed online for more than two years, he has received numerous death threats, his employers have been harassed, and his family has been the target of online hate crimes directed against his Latina wife and daughter.

One female employee at Cycorp who was fired after the Director of the Personnel Department referred to her as “a bitch”, received sexually harassing emails from the same harassment program. Another individual, a member of the Green Party of Texas was identified online from photos at a protest, again by the same harassers. Another male employee who investigated the accounting books of Cycorp received emails from the harassment program telling him that if he did not cooperate in providing information to the harassers, he would be targeted as well.

Other employees that have left Cycorp had experienced direct intervention in their attempts to find work.

Here are some of the projects that Cycorp has worked on:

(1) CycSecure, a system used both to defend and attack networks. This system is currently used by Strategic Command and DISA.
(2) Bio-Surveillance Project for the IAO.
(3) Online harassment program for the CIA against enemies of the United States.
(4) A system managing a database of information on members of the Russian Mafia, including facts such has whose body was found in what trunk.

Do not work for Cycorp.
