We're celebrating the magazine's one-year anniversary in a few weeks and wanted to invite everyone to come along. J. Maarten Troost, first-time author, will be there to sign copies of his recently published book, “The Sex Lives of Cannibals,” and to chat with other travelers.
The book tells the tale of Troost and his girlfriend as they embark on a two-year journey to a small island in the South Pacific. Expecting a vacation in paradise, the couple instead found themselves fighting off stray dogs and enduring the one song on the island—“La Macarena”—for the umpteenth time.
The celebration will take place in the recently-opened Cama bar, in the heart of the Mission district. Inspired by the bed-like décor of supper clubs in Rome, Amsterdam and Bangkok, owner Santiago Rodriguez designed Cama to feature voyeuristic glimpses into the bed chambers of “famous” personalities and a “Jet Lag” cocktail will be available to InsideOut Travel Magazine supporters all evening long at happy hour prices.
