Reclaim the Parks in Ceres!

by DAAA Collective (modanarcho [at] yahoo.com)
Join with the DAAA Collective, and it's sub-group of Ceres Food Not Bombs, to make it known that police cannot drive homeless and poor people out of public areas! Two meal feed, and march to demand an end to harassment!
In Ceres, Modesto, Fresno, and across the valley, the police have made it clear that they are willing to drive out homeless and poor out of public areas no matter how much it infringes on people’s rights. What should be seen as places where all people can gather to relax, read, talk, and get away from busy city life, are now only places that belong to the rich and privileged, and if unwanted persons dare to spend to much time, they will be dealt with by police.

We cannot stand by and allow the armed wing of the state (the police), to determine how public space should be used and operated. Working and poor people built these areas, and we shall use them! Join with Ceres Food Not Bombs on Saturday, October 9th, to Reclaim the Parks. We will celebrate and protest. We will also take our anger to the streets!

WHERE: 3RD Street Park, Whitmore. Downtown Ceres.
WHEN: Saturday, October 9th.
TIME: 12pm-5pm.
WHAT: Ceres Food Not Bombs will be feeding two free meals and giving away free clothes. Rally to show that the people own public space, not the police! Take to the streets to march to another park for dinner feed.
