On Oct. 2, Military Families Speak Out will join Veterans, including those who fought in Iraq, religious and peace groups in a National Memorial Procession from Arlington National Cemetery to the White House. Those gathered, including families whose loved ones were killed in Iraq, will be mourning the fallen, demanding necessary support for the wounded and calling for an end to the war. Sixty Military Families from across the country will participate in the Memorial Procession.

On Oct. 2, Military Families Speak Out will join Veterans, including those who fought in Iraq, religious and peace groups in a National Memorial Procession from Arlington National Cemetery to the White House. WHAT: National Memorial Procession from Arlington National Cemetery to the White House and Military Families: Available for Interview

WHEN: Saturday, October 2, 2004

10:30 a.m. -- Military Families, including those who have lost loved ones in Iraq, and Iraq War Veterans Available for Interview at Arlington National Cemetery, Women's Memorial (to arrange interviews in advance please contact Ryan Fletcher at 202-641- 0277

12 p.m. -- Memorial Ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery, Women's Memorial

1 p.m. -- Memorial Procession to the Ellipse just south of the White House

2 p.m. -- Concluding Ceremony at the White House

The National Memorial Procession is sponsored by over 30 local and national organizations including Military Families Speak Out, Veterans for Peace, Iraq Veterans Against the War, Iraq Pledge of Resistance, American Friends Service Committee, and Peace Action.
