Shanti Commemorates 30 Years of Care and Support Provided to the Bay Area
Fund Raising Celebration Scheduled for October 15th
SAN FRANCISCO – September 21, 2004 – Shanti, a pioneering not-for-profit organization that provides expert assistance to those living with HIV/AIDS and breast cancer, will commemorate and celebrate the three decades of care and support that its volunteers and staff have provided to the Bay Area community at its 30th Anniversary Celebration slated for Friday, October 15, 2004 in the Merchants Exchange Julia Morgan Ballroom.
The event begins at 5 p.m. and features special guest Donna Sachet, silent and live auctions, sumptuous hors d’ouevres, cocktails, and music. Almost 300 guests and local dignitaries will be on hand to celebrate Shanti’s past success and help raise funds for its future.
“This is a great opportunity for our volunteers, staff, and donors to get together to commemorate our success and honor the individuals who have made significant contributions to our cause, whether it be through personal accomplishments, time dedicated to volunteering, or financial donations,” said Kevin Burns, Executive Director of Shanti. “It is also a great opportunity to raise awareness of our services and the difference our organization has made over the years.”
Organizers hope to raise $80,000 at this year’s event. VIP tickets are $200 and general admission tickets are $75. Sponsor packages are also available. For more information about tickets, sponsorship opportunities, or to volunteer at the event, please visit Shanti’s website at http://www.shanti.org or contact Amy Vairetta at 415-674-4710 or avairetta [at] shanti.org.
