House of Blues to Launch United States Tour October 7, 2004 Featuring Multi-Platinum Selling Modern Rock Phenomenon Chang Cheng-Yue with Free9

LOS ANGELES, CA - August 30, 2004: Multi-platinum selling Chinese modern rock artist, Chang Cheng-Yue today announced plans for his upcoming United States tour, making him the first Chinese artist of the genre to tour the United States. The tour, promoted by House of Blues Tours & Talent, Inc, will begin in San Francisco on Thursday October 7th and also have tour stops in New York, Los Angeles, Vancouver, Boston, Philadelphia, Chicago, Washington DC, Houston, and Anaheim, CA.

Kevin Morrow, Senior Vice President of Entertainment, House of Blues Entertainment, Inc said: "House of Blues is really excited to be able to bring the first Chinese Rock/Hip-Hop Band to tour the United States. Chang Cheng-Yue is unbelievable. He will blow your mind. This tour is going to be amazing and unlike anything you've seen before. Cheng-Yue, who’s music and popularity in his native China is frequently compared to a cross between Incubus, Blink 182 and Robbie Williams, has sold more than three million albums and plays for crowds of more than 40,000 in his native China and Taiwan. Cheng-Yue’s recently added hip-hop to his music repertoire where he is joined by MC Hot Dog. In addition, Cheng-Yue is one of China’s most accomplished music producers, having produced albums for Jet Li, Karen Mok, Tarcy Su and more. An accomplished musician, Cheng-Yue played all of the instruments on his upcoming album “Useless Guy” (available XX at Virgin Megastores) including guitar, bass guitar, keyboard and drums. In addition, Cheng-Yue is a spokesman for Coca-Cola China.

Tickets for Chang Cheng-Yue’s October tour go on-sale to the public on Friday September 10th via Ticketmaster with a special presale beginning Wednesday September 8th. Presale is available to HOB.com members.
