Happy New Year! Here's hoping that the Wall finally reaches the Jordan River. Here's hoping that Israel finally puts Arafat on trial and hangs him. Faster, please.
bark bark bark
"Jews for a Free Palestine", there are additional sections of the security barrier being erected as we type, notably in the Southern Judean area (i.e. the southernmost parts of the "West Bank"). The building in this specific zone was prompted by the latest terrorist attack within Israel -- the double bus homicide bombing in Be'er Sheba.
Plans for erecting the Jerusalem portion are in high gear. So I suggest you focus on realistic wishes for this year.

If you really want a wall and you still want Peace...
Build the wall on the Green Line 1967 border...Then there would be fewer objections.
The bus bombing were retaliation for the deaths that the Israeli Military caused, now we are back to where Israel has killed quite a number of Palestinians and of course now the Palestinians will have to retaliate and on and on.
It is Israel who is going into the West Bank and Gaza and confiscating Palestinian land and demolishing Palestinian homes, not the other way around.
And unless we have some brave people in the White House this will not change.
We need a brave President in his second term of office to put an end to the atrocities that Israel is responsible for.
Tit for Tat is getting us nowhere, as proof you can see there is still conflict after thirty six years. So you have to look at the problem as it stands today, and do the right thing so both people can live in peace and with freedom.
If only one side has freedom, the other side will always be seeking it, in anyway they can. That is why there have been wars as far back as we can remember.
Thirty six years of war should be enough for such a small number of people, when you consider the World Population.
You can save Israel by allowing the Palestinian People to have their small state in the Whole of the West Bank and Gaza.
There are 1,200,000 or so Arabs living inside Israel Proper.
There are 400,000 or so Jews living inside the West Bank and Gaza.
Trying to remove all the settlement can be an almost undoable task.
So Set the Borders for Israel to it Pre 1967 Border (Green Line) and have the State of Palestine inside the West Bank and Gaza.
If the U.N. can decide the Borders of Israel in 1948.
The U.N. can decide the Borders of Palestine in 2004.
You would end up with Israel with a majority Jewish Population and Palestine with a majority Muslim Population.
This would allow for the Israeli Military to Guard and Control the Israeli pre 1967 borders instead of confiscating Palestinian Land and Demolishing Palestinian Homes in the West Bank and Gaza that only goes to fuel the need for the Palestinian People to fight for their Freedom.
The Jews who do not like living in the new Palestinian State can feel free to move to Israel if they so choose.
The Arabs living inside Israel can feel free to move to the new Palestinian State if they so choose.
Almost every nation on earth has more then one ethnic group or religious group. So why not Israel and Palestine?
It would sure be better then the never ending conflict we have right now.

(a) The security barrier will not be built entirely along the Green Line. Alterations in the route have been made by Israeli Supreme Court decrees to substantially lessen the burden on Palestinians. If those you apologize for sincerely seek peace, they'll start coming to terms with this reality.
(b) ANGEL doesn't know for sure whether the double Be'er Sheba bus bombing was in retaliation to any Israeli military action.
One question I would like to see ANGEL answer for a change is, why does s/he establish that "the Palestinians" -- any Palestinian, as if every Palestinian to him/her is an automated machine devoid of moral and humanist considerations?) -- MUST retaliate? Why doesn't ANGEL suggest the Palestinians behave morally by refraining from practicing violence? Why does ANGEL believe that only the Israeli side should avoid murderous behavior?
(c) It is Palestinians who infiltrate Israel proper and wreak murder and destruction which triggers Israeli reprisals against the homes of Palestinian terrorists who had committed the murders and destruction, not the other way around (not to mention all the murder and destruction visited upon Jews living in the disputed territories).
(d) Even if Kerry gets elected in Nov, it's unlikely that he would curb Israeli reprisals in the disputed territories significantly. ANGEL would be better off acknowledging that the Carter era won't be replicated anytime soon.

If you really want a state and you still want Peace...
Stop murdering and attempting to murder Jews within and beyond the pre-1967 Green Line...Then there would be fewer objections to the Idea of a Palestinian State.

Israeli city says barrier is 'working'
By James Reynolds
Middle East correspondent
The frequency of attacks by suicide bombers in Israel seems to be slowing, with many Israelis saying the reason is obvious - the barrier separating the West Bank from Israel is keeping out the suicide bombers.
One of the places benefiting from this is the Israeli seaside city of Netanya.
Svid Sacks, from Netanya's city council, says: "In 2001, we had about six attacks here in Netanya.
"In 2002, we had four attacks in Netanya. In 2003, we had one attack in Netanya and in 2004 we had no suicide or no bomb in Netanya."
For him, these figures mean something very clear: Israel's barrier is working.
He and his colleagues have watched as the barrier has been built and suicide attacks in their city have stopped.
Mr Sacks said the barrier was a very positive thing. But he added: "It changes the Palestinians' life and I'm terribly sorry about it because they've got to lose much more than we've got to lose."
'Back to life'
The central promenade here on the coast in Netanya used to be a pretty terrifying place for most Israelis.
This is the place that Palestinian suicide bombers often tried and succeeded in attacking.
But now Israel's built its barrier and this central promenade has come back to life.
There are dozens of cafes all around me with plenty of people sitting outside and enjoying the sun.
What you really notice is that there are very few security guards around and that there are no fences stopping you from getting into the cafes.
In Jerusalem at the moment, when you try to go to an outdoor cafe, you have got to get past a fence, past plenty of security guards, having your bags checked and so on.
But here everything is open and it wasn't like this before the barrier was built.
The busy tables are a pleasant sight for a smiling man called Maurice. He's French-Israeli and his cafe, La Creperie, is doing much better than it used to.
"There is a big difference. People feel much safer, people are going out much more these days and it's all thanks to the barrier," he says.
A British tourist from Reading sitting happily at Maurice's cafe also thinks the security is very good.
"If you're going to come to the Middle East, then it's probably got the best security of anywhere." he says
"I was here in 2000 and 2001 - there has been a noticeable drop in bombings which is obviously brilliant."
Tourists coming back
And it is not just coffee drinkers in the sun who feel much safer nowadays.
The common view in Netanya is that everyone is better off because of the barrier and people are coming back.
Over the summer hotels were fully booked. Carol Shaw, who lives in Netanya and works as an estate agent, says the lack of any recent bombing gave her a nice relaxed feeling.
"I can walk around freely without looking at everybody that's passing me to see if he's an Arab or not an Arab, he's got explosives underneath his clothes or not."
From the edges of Netanya, you can look out and see the West Bank hills on the horizon.
But you can't make out the fences and the walls that Israel has built on the ground.
And in this city there's no great debate about the barrier's legality or about the confiscation of Palestinian land and the encirclement of nearby Palestinian towns.
For Israelis here the equation is simple: the barrier has gone up and life has got better.

But has life gotten better for the Palestinians who have lost more of their land in the West Bank?
What good is a better life if it is only at the expense of another humans loss. I wonder if God is looking down and smiling on the People whose lives have gotten better at the expense of others? Good thing if there happens to be a heaven and hell (I am not so sure myself) where things can be made even again (but forever).

Your Palestinian friends have the solution in their hands for everybody to live happily. They only have to stop committing terrorist attacks, and so the Israelis won't need the fence. And everybody could live happily. Don't you think so?

You would do more good towards your cause if you just came out and said what you believed by just saying you are anti-ANGEL therefore against what ANGEL has to say.

Now you and everyone else interested in the subject of the wall know without a doube that the wall is being built way past the Green line border and into the West Bank taking more Palestinian Land.
It is not going the other way and being built way into Israel Proper taking more of Israel Proper land.
So who's life is better the Palestinians who are losing more land or the Israelis who are taking more land?
You don't even have to be a genius, just plain reasoning and common sense tells you who is in the wrong.
