Helicopter & Plane Terrorize Opera in the Park
On a beautiful sunny September 12, 2004, the free fabulous annual tradition, Opera in the Park, presented by the 100% union San Francisco Opera & Recreation & Parks Dept. was terrorized by a KFOG advertising plane and a private photographer's helicopter who somehow thought this event was the Dave Matthews band, also performing in the park.
The San Francisco Opera orchestra is a large professionally-attired group with all orchestral instruments, not a small popular band. The pilot must have seen that in his 20 times circling noisely overhead.
THe KFOG plane went away shortly, but this stupid helicopter circulated low some 20 times over Opera in the Park in Golden Gate Park's Sharon Meadow. Apparently it was not possible for the police and sheriff deputies, who were present, to call the FAA and tell them to have this helicopter removed from our airspace. It took a photographer in our audience with a telescopic lens to photograph the license of this helicopter, go on the internet, match the license with a company that was connected to a photographer of the Dave Matthews Band, tell the FAA all this information, and finally the FAA got off the dime and had this idiot removed from our air space, but clearly not all air space over all concerts.
We could not continue with our concert until this helicopter left as the noise was so horrific. We had not only huge speakers by the stage, but huge speakers on tall structures some distance from the stage, to project the sound to the thousands of people attending. That, of course, is no match for the horrifying roar of a helicopter. When the concert was first stopped, we all tried to indicate to the helicopter to go away, thousands of us. If the helicopter were photographing us, it must have seen this close up with a telescopic lens. The pilot must have had binoculars, looking for a band on the ground. In fact, we can be sure there are regulations that the pilot of a helicopter, certainly a helicopter photographing the ground, must have binoculars.
The question remains, why is it that the FAA allows any helicopter or plane to fly over any concert? The noise is clearly a nuisance, and of course, the danger that these planes might crash onto the people always exists, either from mechanical failure or the pilot could have a heart attack, for example.
We now will face the annual military terrorist planes that are expected to roar over San Francisco during Columbus Genocide Weekend, Oct. 8-12, 2004. This year, in place of the Navy's Blue Death, we get the Canadian Death Birds, flying illegally low over heavily populated San Francisco, wasting (Canadian) tax dollars and oil, making terrible noise and glorifying war. The military does not exist to entertain anyone; this is a war promotional. We also get Navy and Air Force jets as well, wasting US tax dollars.
The good Democrat Supervisor Aaron Peskin excuses this horror show by stating that it makes money for the Fisherman's Wharf restaurants. This is blood money we do not need. For more on this outrage, see the 9/10/04 SF Chronicle at:

You will note the Canadian Death Birds call themselves "Warriors of the Air," acknowledging their deadly purpose. The article clearly states the Navy and Air Force will have other jets terrorizing San Francisco, with the Canadian Death Birds, in conjunction the military's recruiting racket, Fleet Week. Since we have no navy bases here anymore thanks to our wonderful peace movement, these terrorists will come from Canada and San Diego.
Supervisor Peskin and the rest of his warmongering Democratic Party parasites sitting at City Hall will certainly receive our phone calls. Hitler would be proud of Peskin's excuse for supporting advertising for war and terrorizing the people of San Francisco with the illegal air show, namely that it makes money for capitalists. That was, of course, the reason the capitalist class promoted Hitler, to maximize their profits. Perhaps Aaron Peskin has yet to read Who Financed Hitler? by James Pool (1997, Pocket Books, Simon & Schusters) and IBM and The Holocaust by Edwin Black, a NY Times Bestseller (2001, Crown).
Clearly, both the Democratic and Republican Parties are proud promoters of war and helicopter-plane noisy terrorist flights over concerts and cities, and thus do not deserve our vote. Please skip all registered Democrats and Republicans at all levels. Vote Red (Peace & Freedom Party) or Green.
