9/9 SF reggae controversy continues
"...string them up and hang them alive...", sings Capleton
In their Sept. 9 editions, both SF queer weeklies report ongoing controversy
about homophobic singer Capleton,
scheduled to perform in SF's Golden Gate Park on Oct. 3,
as part of the "Reggae in the Park" festival.
Please see:
-- SF Bay Times, 9/9:
"Reggae in the Park Forges On,"
front page.
-- Bay Area Reporter, 9/9:
"LGBT groups say reggae artist's apology falls flat,"
page 15.
.......
3 October 2004 is the same Sunday as Castro Street Fair;
which may pose opportunities for well-organized activists,
and dangers for individual queers.
.........
