Anarchists Against John Kerry (and the electoral politics system!)
Has anyone else out there had it up to here with this ridiculous "John Kerry will be miles better than Bush" bullshit?
Ok, I have absolutely had it. I didn't go to NYC for a variety of reasons. One was that I hadn't recovered from the "reactionist" mobilization that I took off a week of work for earlier this year- how many things can you be reacting to all the time? I stayed home and gardened and worked on other local projects. Ok, I didn't get that much done because I was so busy following what was going on in New York...
But anyhow, this "anyone but Bush" shit has gotten out of control. Kerry is NOT that much better than Bush! (see http://www.indybay.org/archives/archive_by_id.php?id=2255&category_id=45 and http://www.indybay.org/archives/archive_by_id.php?id=2254&category_id=29, for example)
So what happens if Kerry wins, then the democrats and the greens and all those people who set their politics aside for a few months to elect him, and then, as they plan to do now, they have to try to hold him to their politics? It's all so gross. I mean, isn't Bush bringing the troops home so he can use them on us the day after the election, and then Kerry can use them on us next year?
Another thing: people seem to be putting all their eggs in one basket- the democratic process. Hello, American democracy is on a downward spiral! It is in its worst crisis ever, judging by the problems they had in Florida and the fact that people are trying to have election monitors in as many places as possible this fall (http://www.indybay.org/archives/archive_by_id.php?id=2395&category_id=45, for example)...
So okay, you want to vote in someone better. Well, just in case that doesn't work, we should try to figure out some other ways to live our lives so we can get by when the price of oil and water skyrocket in coming times...riding bikes and public transit more, growing more of our own food, organizing our communities so we can deal with problems that come up, learning about "alternative medicine..."
What do YOU think about all of this?

The worst thing that can happen is that Bush gets in. So what. Kerry is just as bad as Bush when it comes to going along with the neocon vision of conquering the Middle East and beyond for to be subjugated to Israel and the Zionists, mostly. All those immoral politicans who go along with this plan get to keep their jobs ( as long as they don't ever criticize Israel) and they often win out financially as well with lucrative "re-building" contracts-- just ask Senator Feinstein! Her hubby's company is making billions off the war on Iraq. Just ask Cheney, and all the rest. They are all traitors to this country and our democratic ideals. Judases.
If Bush gets in, we can try to take him down for what he started. Just like remember how the evil Nixon got two terms? The second term we got to impeach him. This second term we will try to impeach Bush and arrest and jail all the neocons such as Cheney, Wolfowitz, Abrams, Perle, Feith, Ashcroft and aalllll those responsible for pushing the lies that led to the war on Iraq.
If Kerry gets in, he's just Bush with a smiley face, and even more slippery to impeach than Bush.
So, I say, no doubt about it....vote for Nader.
yup, depressing all the way around. also, if you register to vote now, you'll also receive a free jury summons. mmm, long lines and christian dominionists. neighbor suing neighbor..... maybe you'll get a three strikes case and be able to hang the jury-- if your acting's good enough to get on it.
hope springs eternal. aint that right Ralph?

If you lived in Pennsylvania, you might want to consider first this thought expressed in Noam Chomsky's blog, that if you know Nader won't win, the moral thing would be to care about the extra suffering caused to real people by the greater instead of the lesser evil. http://blog.zmag.org/ttt/
is he entitled to go as far to the right as he wants, because he's not fronting for the xian coalition?
is he entitled to continue the war in iraq in the name of the antiwar movement, because there's, um.... nowhere else to go?
