WHEN: September 2, 2004
WHERE: Gather at Fruitvale BART at 4 for open mic, March to San Antonio Park at 5 for following rally (Fruitvale BART is at 12th St/35th Ave and San Antonio Park is off of Foothill Blvd between 16th and 18th Streets)
WHY: Because George W. Bush is the greatest immediate threat to people of color in the United States and abroad. We must play a historic role in contributing to the mass dissent that will result in Bush being voted out of office.
Be ready to chant, sing, dance, pump your fists, and wave your flags in resistance to U.S. occupation anywhere
Our Goals:
1. To make a connection between the systems of oppression that
target people of color, women, poor people, immigrants, queer and
transgender people locally and globally and their struggles of
resistance.
2. To call for the removal of Bush administration because this
regime is the most immediate threat to oppressed communities around the world.
3. To provide resources to participate in struggle against the
systems of oppression.

We got to fight this SYSTEM NOW!
We gonna bring this SYSTEM DOWN!
Siafu is a collective of organizers and activists from the San Francisco Bay Area who have come together in our opposition to George W. Bush and U.S. imperialism. As a group of people of color, women, queer and transgendered people and white anti-racist allies, we are looking to stand with the people of the world to reclaim our future. We have taken the name 'siafu' from an African ant which despite its small size is known to take down animals much larger than itself through highly coordinated
maneuvers.

Um, that looks like a buncha white folks in that picture. THIS is how colored folks demonstrate? by sending whitey out to do it?
How stupid...
How stupid...
"colored folks" is a but outdated. your red neck is showing.
That comment is odviously stupid, garbage race guilt baiting, but calling somebody a red neck is stupid class/cultural baiting. Red neck is a term developed for white people that worked in the fields, basically used to describe any poor white person or manual laborer. Anyone white viewed as underclass, ignorant, and stupid. It is a term specifically used with white people to make a class and educational judgement.
What does this say about the person that uses if as an insult?

what is "whitey"? the response to the original article is a baiter.
or the "white" is in his eyes. I see quite a few people of color in this photo.
the folks in this crew - and in the photo are mos definitely folks of color. just to clarify 'homeboy', the term doesn't mean BLACK folks only -- it's a solidarity term developed/reclaimed/renamed to bring together communities and people that have suffered under white male supremacy -- which includes indigenas, asians, islanders, latinos, etc. etc. in addition to black folks -- so that we can all fight imperialist bitches together.
white folks are hard to filter out. we all know this... but there are a minority of white people that are key as 'allies' in the struggle... unfortunately hella other white folks will also turn out and bleach out practically anything we might organise. it's a constant battle, folks.
In the first stated goal of this demo..."
"1. To make a connection between the systems of oppression that target people of color, women, poor people, immigrants, queer and transgender people locally and globally and their struggles of resistance. "
Isn't this basically inclusive of white people? Not the people of color part, but the other catagories do describe alot of white people in this country. Or should it be a semi colon after people of color. What is the problem with white; women, poor people, immigrants, queer, and transgendered people marching behind this banner?
I actually don't have a problem with people and the politics of exclussion and self empowerment. Associate however you want, but be clear.
