Nearly three hundred Old Growth Organic Blueberry Bushes need your two
hands to keep them alive by bringing them back to your home. If not,
these precious, productive and potent pieces of history will be
destroyed. They were planted nearly 60 years ago as part of California's
first blueberry farm and the owner now has a different vision for his
property.

On Friday (yes.that is this Friday), August 27th at 8:30 am, the biggest
Blueberry Rescue And Transplant OF ALL TIME will begin at Green Valley
Berry Farm, 9341 Ross Station Road between Graton and Forestville, at
the backside of the lot (not at the residence in front). You should see
my little white truck and hopefully a backhoe gently popping up plants
near the bike trail. Please don't disturb the residence.

While I don't have any land of my own to place these on, my blueberry
stained lips cannot imagine seeing these destroyed without one big
communal effort to save some or all. I've spent 5 hours on the phone
today assessing, visioning and organizing, and I'll be volunteering my
entire day Friday to see these producers find good homes.

The price for each is either FREE or next to nothing (baskets of organic
blueberries go for $5 each). If you show up with a smile, a strong back,
some shovels and ALL the help you need (these bushes weigh up to 250
awkward pounds), the owner welcomes you to take them for free (but only
on Friday.for we must have critical mass or it is too much of a hassle
for him). I you don't want to dig, donation of at least $10 bucks per
plant is requested (to pay for the $250-$300 backhoe rental I'm
sporting) and a few more donated bucks for the additional backbreaking
work of lifting these plants into your truck. If you don't have cash,
start doing pushups tonight and imagine yourself spending an hour or two
helping others dig and lift to "earn" your plants.

To donate money or time toward the rescue of these plants beyond Friday,
please contact me before Friday. We need to act fast! Please spread the
word to your tribes. Don't forget to bring shovels and other tools, a
lifting tarp, a truck, additional strong hands, water, burlap sacks, a
energy boosting snack to share and positivity!

With big dreams of bountiful backyard browsings for beautiful
blueberries to bless our bellies, bodies, and brains, -Luke Snyder
