Fresno Activists in NYC for RNC demos

For the last 9 months Fresno activists have been organizing to attend the protests during the Republican National Convention (RNC) in New York City. During this time we’ve recruited 11 people to go to New York, We’ve raised hundreds of dollars to help young activists to go and we’ve been in contact with New York activists.

About half of the Fresno activists are already in New York. They will be there for about three weeks. The rest of us will be leaving within a few days.

The first action we will participate in is the New York Critical Mass bike ride on August 27th. We’ve contacted "Times Up" a bike activist group which is organizing bike blocs during the RNC. A bike bloc rides in support of marches and rallies. It scouts for police movements and warns march participants of possible police traps or mobilizations against the march. There are events and protests on every day of the RNC, and Fresno Activists will be participating in as many actions as we can.

When we return to Fresno we will organize a report back to share our experience. We’ll share stories, photos, any zines and posters we pick up while in NY. Time and location of the report back to be arranged.
