Golden Gate Beat
last post on the beat down of homeless people in the park
well, seeing all the ridicule from my last post I thought I would post one last update before heading out of san francisco.
a homeless women told the story how her partner was beaten by cops in the park this morning. he was repeatedly struck by Sgt. Reed, while in handcuffs. Another homeless man complained that he was dragged down stares from his sleeping spot of 8 months by the same sargeant. The police crack down in the park continues. Profiling homeless people and traveller types. One homeless man claimed the local merchants pay the police to beat down on the homeless. It must be a seasonal thing. Anyway, if any of you anarchists want to do something different aside from sewing circle A's on your jackets and attending punk concerts then maybe you could give up your privileges and get a video camera and do some cop watch with san francisco's homeless in the park. then again why should even middle and upper class anarchists care about the poor in this town?
to new traveller types arriving in town. Watch out for the cops in Golden Gate Park. And you can find good grub to eat, that is if you don't want to willfullly participate in capitalism, at the Haight Street Food Program at 1525 Waller Street. you can take your sleeping, open container and whatever tickets to 468 Turk St, the Coaliton on Homelessness, and get the tickets dismissed.
it really is a different kind of scene here in San Francisco. seems that what happens is that the middle and upper classes move here and flourish and poor people perish.
thats just one person's view. and i am sure there are plenty of people that just think i am an escapist bum, hell even IMC volunteers have kicked me and my friends outta their space. anyway, if anyone is listening the homeless and traveller types could use some help in Golden Gate. we rarely if ever see the Coalition on Homelessness down here.
