Squinty Cindy Crawford abandons PETA, models fur
August 19, 2004 -- THE animal rights freaks at PETA have lost another ally. Like Naomi Campbell before her, Cindy Crawford — who posed 10 years ago in the "I'd rather go naked than wear fur" campaign — is now wearing fur. The supermodel is the latest spokeswoman for Blackglama, following in the footsteps of Bette Davis, Marlene Dietrich, Lauren Bacall and Rita Hayworth. Edward Brennan, CEO of American Legend, the marketing cooperative behind Blackglama, told Women's Wear Daily that Crawford modeled five coats for the campaign. "She can have any one she wants," he said. "I hope she took all five."
