Bay Area Black in the Life promotes the Oakland 2nd Annual International Black Gay, Lesbian,
Bisexual & Transgender Film Festival. Oakland is home to the largest population of African &
African-American same-gender and transgender people in Northern California and has one of the
largest and most ethnically diverse concentrations of gays and lesbians in the world.
No surprise to us, so come out, get a slice of pizza, lasagna, or popcorn, a bottle of water, a

This is a special brunch hosted by Lavender Seniors. Come engage with others to eat well, meet
friends and learn about the needs of our aging community and the support services available to
them. The Lavender Seniors will also be showing the film about Ruth Ellis, who was one of the
oldest known ' out' African-American lesbians.
