TEHRAN, Aug. 15 (MNA) -- The Iranian documentary “Che Guevara” describing the humanitarian thoughts of Ernesto Che Guevara, Cuba’s revolutionary leader, is in the post-production stage.
Directed by Puyan Shahrokhi, the documentary consists of three episodes: “Che Guevara”, “A Man with A Gun”, and “Goodbye Ernesto”. The documentary was filmed in Cuba, Bolivia, and France, and includes an interview with Cuban President Fidel Castro, as well as long discussions with Guevara’s widow, his daughter Aleida, his son Camilo, and his close friends.
The previous films produced on Guevara are biographies and describe his revolutionary activities said Shahrokhi, adding that this documentary focuses mostly on the humanitarian thoughts and personal characteristics of Guevara.
The film is being produced by a French company, and the crew is mostly French. The text of the documentary is being translated into Persian and will be narrated by Iranians Bahram Radan and Behruz Razavi.
Born in Argentina and trained as a physician, Che Guevara became a military commander for Fidel Castro from 1956 to 1959, during the Cuban revolution.
Guevara opposed United States intervention in Latin American affairs and believed that only violent revolution could remedy the poverty of the masses.
Guevara wrote two books about guerrilla warfare and led guerrilla forces in South America. He was captured and killed by Bolivian troops while leading a guerrilla group trying to overthrow the Bolivian government.
