Cops: Golden Gate Park

by eco-squatter (eco-squatter [at] autonomi.net)
Cops beating down on the homeless in Golden Gate Park
Well it's another foggy morning in San Francisco. Recently I have noticed that there seem to be more cops in Golden Gate Park near the Stanyan St entrance. Bicycle cops, cops in cars, cops on foot, cops on motorcycles. The other night when I was tired and decided to sleep in the park I found a nice exclusive spot away from everything and everyone, except a motorcycle cop patrolling the woods looking for homeless people sleeping at night. I wonder why so many cops are necessary to patrol the homeless in San Francisco? I am also wondering why so many people hate homeless people. Seems homeless people are just a stereotype here "street people" are not the "homeless people" street people are street people, homeless people are many different kinds of people. They might even have jobs, like me, might even have laptops, like me and might even pay their taxes like me. And because I choose self-employment and freedom rather then slavery behind a corporate controlled job and a leash I get to be harassed again and again by police, my they look disappointed when I have no criminal record. Even if I earned enough money to pay rent in this local economy I don't think I would, but that is beside the point. For thousands of years people lived nomadic lifestyles. Only in modern times has being "homeless" become akin to being a criminal. Is living without four walls the new "thought crime"? And again and again I watch cops pass by crack dealers and heroin dealers at 16th and Mission, but they never stop, just when your homeless do the boys in blue bother to get out of their cars. Not participating in the capitalist system seems worse then dealing drugs.

Okay, back to liberal news at sfbay.indymedia.org for now, just thought I would throw in a reality check from the hated fringes of your community.

[cup of coffee bets this doesn't even make it to the local newswire]
