Author of “Seeds of Deception” Speaks in Sacramento on Sept. 13
Jeffrey M. Smith will speak about his book, “Seeds of Deception,” on Monday, September 13, 2004 at 7:00 p.m. at the Sierra 2 Center, 2791-24th St. (24th St. and 4th Ave.), Curtis Hall, in Sacramento. The event, sponsored by Organic Sacramento and the Community Alliance with Family Farmers (CAFF), will feature a book signing after the talk.
Smith’s book has been called the "Silent Spring" of genetically modified foods. Just as Rachel Carson’s “Silent Spring" led to a ban of DDT, “Seeds of Deception” may result in widespread rejection of GM foods. More information about “Seeds of Deception” is available at http://www.seedsofdeception.com.
“Outrageous,” said Ben Cohen, founder of Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream. “That’s what you’ll say over and over again when you read how the biotechnology companies have manipulated the government, our food, and the media, and put an entire generation at risk.”
Donations will be accepted ($5 suggested.) For more information, call 916-947-3778, or visit http://www.organicsacramento.org.
