Girly-man advises Governator to "Destroy"

DMV giving wrong advice to citizens

Dear Governor Schwarzenegger,
[governor [at] governor.CA.gov ]

When mailing out a new California driver license or I.D. card, our DMV includes this instruction: "Protect Your Identity! Properly Dispose of any Previously Issued Driver License or Identification Card."

That vague notice FAILS to reduce identity theft. The weak phrase, "Properly Dispose of", doesn't even begin to do the job. Some persons may think they can safely toss old cards into their trash cans.

But really, to prevent abuse, they must DESTROY their old cards.

Please order DMV to toss the useless phrase "Properly Dispose of", and to replace it with the effective word "Destroy".

Also please reply to this suggestion by a California citizen, voter, and proud girly-man.
