Levi's contractor, GRUPO M, runs a sweatshop in a World Bank funded "free trade zone" in Haiti, where the workers have formed an independent union called Sendika Ouvriye Codevi Wanament (SOKOWA). GRUPO M has been trying to bust the SOKOWA union all Spring: organizers have been beaten by soldiers and more than 350 workers were fired last month.
