Anarchist World’s Fair
Join the Resistance!

This summer, thousands of people are coming to New York City to protest the Republicans. The Anarchist World’s Fair will provide many opportunities for newcomers to connect with the local anarchist scene. Throughout the entire month of August, there will be projects to work on, a soccer tournament, a really free market, an anarchist picnic, wild parties and lots of other places to hang out, meet people, build solidarity, and experience the craziness of living in New York!

How can a mobilization give more to its host city than it takes away?
As anarchists in New York, we welcome the prospect of having thousands of like-minded folks around to share in our communities, trade skills, stories, and experiences, and, oh yeah, smash the Republicans! We hope that the folks passing through will temporarily become an integral part of our communities of resistance here in the Big Apple, collaborating with groups, collectives, and individuals to work on a variety of local projects.

How does this work?
The practice of “mustering a crew” is an important tradition in our radical history. It is based on the idea that people make the best connections and relationships through face-to-face contact, and it provides a way to exchange valuable information. When folks get into town, they can head to a mustering point to find out what is going on, where there is a place to crash, where the free-food is, and which radical local struggles they can aid. During the Anarchist World’s Fair, mustering tables will be set up at events and locations throughout the city, armed with copies of our AWF guide to NY and resources to help people hook-up with various groups that need mutual aid, helpers, etc.
