Car pooling daily being arranged from Arcata and Eureka

Receiving reports daily now... Defenders across large areas of Southern Humboldt, witness to huge swaths of forests being ripped out of our watersheds, Maxxam/Pacific Lumber continuing its unlawful logging, defenders now urgently calling for greater public participation in one form or another......... this action camp only a new beginning, encouraging possibly a public forum soon.
1) We demand an end to this blatant disregard of a judges
ruling regarding those active Timber Harvest Plans as of those court proceedings, to be in violation of forest practices, but he not
willing to stop them, a courtroom battle won with no redemption
whatsoever, the judge unwilling to carry through with his own
findings.
2) We watch as this company, which has been so in contempt of the privilege of using land under the laws of the public trust has
so abused it as to have lost their license to operate in the past,
but not long enough it seems, sighting the most recent 325 forest
practices violations on this land, 70% of them effecting water
quality itself, thus destroying that public trust. It's gotten that
bad! It sets unacceptable precedents for how we may never expect justice if such belligerent practices continue..
There is no recourse left, but to see this as a situation
calling upon greater public grass roots participation, demanding
these critical abuses of nature and our rights under law be halted.
We ask you to join us and welcome your ideas and
participation.
