WPA Structures Bus Tour:
The New Deal and the Structures They Built
July 25 (Sunday) 10:00 a.m. $15

With WPA historian Harvey Smith and others as your guides, learn about the major contribution that construction workers made during the Depression era in the building of San Francisco. Their monuments stand as important landmarks for all working people.

The tour will follow this route. Assemble at the bottom corner of Aquatic Park (Hyde and Jefferson streets), San Francisco, at 9:30 a.m. Depart for Rincon Annex at 10:00 a.m. View lobby and murals. View Treasure Island across the bay. Depart for Sunshine School (Bryant and 25th) at 10:30 a.m. via the old Federal Building. View interior of Sunshine School. Depart for Golden Gate Park at 11:15 a.m. via the U.S. Mint. View public and police stables. Depart for Beach Chalet at 12:30 p.m. View mural, mosaics, and wood carvings. Have lunch. (Sandwiches and drinks will be available on the bus.) Return to Aquatic Park at 2:00 p.m.
