Tara Dorabji will speak about "America's Weapons of Mass Destruction - And what we can do to get rid of them.” Dorabji is the Outreach Coordinator for Tri-Valley Communities Against a Radioactive Environment (Tri-Valley CAREs) and is organizing the upcoming “Books Not Bombs” rally and march at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratories to commemorate the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
Nuclear weapons are the ultimate weapons of terror and their elimination begins with our opposition to them right here in the San Francisco Bay Area. Tri-Valley CAREs, which is centered in Livermore, CA, is part of a world-wide campaign to abolish nuclear weapons launched in 2004 by the mayors of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and the anti-nuclear group Abolition 2000.
The program will be broadcast live on Mid-Peninsula Cable Channel 27 and taped for rebroadcast on Channels 27 and 28 throughout August. It is part of the ongoing “Other Voices” television series produced by Peninsula Peace and Justice Center.
Free; sponsored by PPJC.
