Labor Continues to Join Struggle to Stop the Deportation of the Cuevas Family
The Alameda Central Labor Council passed a resolution last Monday supporting the campaign to stop the deportation of the Cuevas family, and the Million Worker March Organizing Committee decided to endorse the campaign last night at their meeting.
In these the possible last days that the Cuevas family lives in what they have considered their home for the last 20 years, labor and other support continues to grow in the struggle to stop their deportation. The deportation is scheduled to happen this Wednesday, when they are scheduled to report to the ICE(INS/Migra)office on Sansome and Washington(I believe the time is 9am). It seems like the last Wednesday of the month is deportation day at the ICE office, with the information part of the office closed because they don't want most immigrants to be exposed to the prospective deportees.
