Governor Arnold Pardons Bob the Cat

by Prisoner50X
Governor Arnold repented and decided to spare the lives of homeless furry people, including our friend Bob the Cat. Bob wasn't worried though. He still has several lives left ;-)
[That which must be written...]

In a Saturday news conference Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger (question: WTF? Which reality did I wake up in today!!!) said, "There was a mistake that I made. Animals will be kept in animal shelters for six days and so everything will stay exactly the same."

"BobI cannot tell you how refreshing it is to hear such frankness. If Reich Fuhrer Bush had been in the same position he would have claimed that his new "Furry People Right To Life Act" had been misrepresented  by the liberal media and that he actually intended to increase the amount of time lost pets are kept in shelters from the present 3 days to 6 days.

One thing does bother me, aside from the fact that California government was planning to try to save a mere 50 cents per year per citizen by killing the citizens' pets faster. The thing that bothers me is that they also planned to remove the requirement that animal shelters try to locate a pet's owner before "euthanizing" the animal. Isn't that why people are forced to buy licenses and put collars and id tags on their pets? If, say, my beloved friend, Bob the Cat got picked up the people at the shelter wouldn't even look at the tag to find out where Bob the Cat lives?

That infuriates me beyond words. And I am not alone it seems.

"The pet owners of America will find this reprehensible," Barbara O'Connor, of the Institute for the Study of Politics and Media of California State University, told the Los Angeles Times. "Don't mess with the pets. Most people prefer them to people."

Let's go over that one again, "Most people prefer them to people."

That boggles the mind. But, it is probably true based on how we actually behave. Consider how the average person will respond to a homeless person knocking at the door and compare that to how the same person will likely respond if the homeless "person" is covered with fur, has four legs, pointy ears, and says, "Meow!"

QED. Hobo goes to jail, furry kitty gets a meal. (Bada bing, bada boom.)

I've been hanging out at Kitty Pictures Journal lately, over at http://www.livejournal.com/community/kittypix/

"Kitty Pictures" amounts to a lifestyle decision, requiring one or more cats, a digital camera or scanner, a net-connected computer and lots of funky love. I happen to think their life choice is sane and remarkably healthy, in relation to various alternatives I won't go into now ;-)  Spend some time there yourself. Do some "Feline Zen" and alter your consciousness. Soon you won't be freaking out about the upcoming GOP Convention or Reich Fuhrer Bush's plans to invade Iran, or anything at all, really. Just go with the flow. Buddha Cat will enlighten you...

Had Govenrnor Arnold been enlightened he would not have attempted mass pet murder. But, the good news is that he repented. And he did it FAST.

Good boy, Arnold!  Pat, pat, pat!!!

P.S.

Here is a whole gallery of pictures of Bob the Cat ;-)
