the effort to unseat bush -- and on a larger scale to challenge the american corporate/military empire -- is the effort to prevent acts of torture and oppression to be visited onto Anyone in the world.

the same folks who are in the streets and sidewalks against this iraq occupation are the folks that were trying to stop american military aid to dictators like saddam 15 years ago. bush I, cheney and rumsfeld all supported his regime and helped make possible the suffering you demonstrate in your picture.

to generalize, that variety of policy -- monetary and military support to people that can help secure the business interests of the US/EU -- is part of what the global resistance to bush and this war is challenging.


as we saw in abu graib, it's clearly not a choice between saddam or freedom.

You do remember, that Iran held our citizens captive for 444 days...Saddam was at war with Iran...Proxy war for us...
