.....
NIGHT MARSH Project Description:
Drawing on over two years of intensive research and exploration
through residencies at the Jon Sims Center for the Arts in SF,
Eric Kupers directs a cast of 15 dancers, diverse in size, shape,
color, age, orientation and physical ability in an intricately
choreographed journey through a world of naked bodies.

Beginning with an investigation of our culture's attitudes towards
body diversity and nudity, the piece then looks deeper at fears of
the body as it is and their relationship to fears of death and
dying.

NIGHT MARSH is performed completely naked, using nudity as a
tool for uncovering the often forgotten place of humans in the
wide spectrum of animals and the natural world.

JULY 2004:
.......

USA summer: July-August-September (overview): Bush needs average voters, especially those who depend on television for news, to be distracted from Iraq-related issues until after the November election. Republicans stage debate on same-sex marriage in U.S. Senate, starting July 12. Democratic national convention happens at Boston, late July. After the Dem-Con, TV viewers will turn to the Athens Olympics; and many will disengage from national life, for summer activities and travel, until Labor Day. In early September, seeking to profit from the 9-11 anniversary, Republicans will gather in New York City to coronate King George the Lesser; and to find out whether Cheney will continue as Veep candidate (a decision which is really up to Cheney, not Bush).

OREGON: ___ July?: Deadline for fascists to get enough signatures
to put anti-queer constitutional amendment on November state ballot
(unless state legislature does their evil work for them?).
...........
USA: July 4, Sunday: Wear wedding regalia? Hoods?
..........

CAL: SF: 4 July, Sunday: Nude Freedom Day, at Baker Beach. CLOTHING-OPTIONAL. Free.
You're invited to bodypaint and get bodypainted, for freedom, equal rights, and peace on Nude Freedom Day, July 4, at Baker Beach, San Francisco. Free. Adults of all genders and orientations are welcome.
Directions: Take #29 Muni bus to Baker Beach (either of two stops; ask driver); or bike there; or walk from Geary Blvd. and 25th Ave. Walk to northern parking lot, which has water fountain & toilets. From parking lot, walk north on beach (toward Golden Gate Bridge), thru prude zone and into nude zone. Then visually follow the cable fence (separating usable beach from protected vegetation) until you see a Leather Pride Flag (bearing a red heart, with stripes of black, blue, and white). If you don't see the flag yet, just enjoy the beach on your own. Look again for flag, or bodypainters, each hour or two, especially near the log stairway.
Time?: Since the organizer must carry supplies on the bus, no reliable time can be guaranteed. He'll try to be there by 3PM, possibly earlier. Rain cancels. For last-minute changes, please visit [http://pages.prodigy.net/seniornude].
..........

CAL: July 4: SF, Cable 29: "Outlook" [queer news], first Sunday, 5pm.
.........

USA: July 12: U.S. Senate begins debate on the "Federal Marriage Amendment", which would ban same-sex marriages, etc. Bigots need 2/3 majority (67 votes) to pass a constitutional amendment through the Senate. They don't expect to get 67, but Bush hopes the debate will help him.

AUGUST 2004:

USA: Traditionally, news media experience a shortage of "serious" news during "the dog days",
so this is journalism's "silly season", time to feature unusual events., especially those involving
nudity or sex.
If you're planning an unusual action, demo, or stunt, do it BEFORE the Olympics begin.
...........

CAL: Aug. 1st: SF, Cable 29: "Outlook" [queer news], first Sunday, 5pm.
...............

GREECE: circa 13 August 2004:

Will Athens Olympics distract U.S. voters from political issues?
Or will Al Qaeda terrorists strike Athens to help Bush get elected?

Why would terrorists want Bush, whom they despise, to rule the USA?
Because he stupidly falls for their tricks
and plays into their hands;
thus alienating potential allies
and energizing potential opponents.
..............

CAL: circa Aug. 23: By this date, California Supreme Court might hand down a decision
about whether San Francisco city-county officials
acted illegally when they issued same-sex marriage licenses
(in SF's historic "Winter of Love", February-March 2004).

USA: 4-5-6 Sept (?): Labor Day weekend (after which, voters traditionally
pay more attention to November elections).
........

CAL: Sept 5: SF, Cable 29: "Outlook" [queer news], first Sunday, 5pm.
.......

NEW YORK: Sept. __ - ___: NYC: Republican National Convention will attempt to
exploit a nation's traumatic memories of 9-11-2001, by portraying the
Bush regime as effectively "fighting terror". Some protesters will claim that Iraq War
has drained resources away from fighting Al Qaeda and similar groups.
Others will raise many issues, including equal marriage rights.
..........

MASS: 14 Sept., Tuesday: state primary election, in which candidates' chances
may (or may not) be affected by the MA same-sex marriage controversy.
........

CAL: SF: late September: Wear hoods at clothing-optional Folsom Street Fair.

............................

.......

Ask your local Congressperson and both of your Senators to oppose, or at least to delay,
any and all amendments to the U.S. Constitution concerning marriage.
If your politician is liberal, speak of equal human rights for all citizens.
If he or she isn't liberal, say that marriage is a state issue, not a federal issue.
............

CAL: Halloween, Oct. 31: In SF's Castro district, "CastroWeen" offers
a chance to mock Bush and his pet bigots.
.............................

NOVEMBER 2004:

USA: Nov. 2, Tuesday: Presidential election (unless cancelled....)???
Also, in several states (Georgia, Mississippi, Utah, Kentucky), voters decide whether their state constitutions
need anti-marriage amendments.

Would you buy democracy lessons from a man
who stole "his" national government? ]
