Round-ups & Desaparecidos (bilingual)

by danielsan (danielsan [at] riseup.net)
INS (or whatever Homeland Security Dept. acronym they've got now) have recently raided businesses, picked people off the street, and racially profiled and harassed community members and leader in a campaign against undocumented people and allies.
EN ESPAÑOL EN SEGIUDA

We must be prepared to defend and fight for people who are rounded up, detained, disappeared, imprisoned, or murdered by police whether they are religious leaders, political activists, undocumented workers, students, or right-wingers. Human beings are being jailed for entering Vandenburg AFB, deported for testifying against police thugs, murdered for resisting false arrest, search, and seizure, and put under surveilance for their work as community organizers.

Or, simply for being poor, crossing an arbitrary border without permission (and being encouraged to do so by neoliberal economic policy by all three north american governments) in search of work that has been rendered impossible (by said economic treaties).

Self defense is a must. We must not allow them to take us willingly into their private prisons and public gas chambers.

The U.S.A. P.A.T.R.I.O.T. A.C.T. makes it possible for those of us who *do* have US Citizenship to lose it at the whim of military courts if and when we are effective enough as radical progressives to make our leaders fear our power as people. We can not allow the state to abuse people because they are not citizens, because they will come for us next.

Tuesday night I overheard a conversation at a pizza place during the Lakers loss to Detroit in which a man (who works for Monsanto) propose to his nodding-in-agreement friends that we (white amerikkkans) should " put a laser sensor on the border" to which his friend added "and a bug zapper!... zzzz zzzz."

!!?!?!!!
This is San José, Califaztlan...
What are we to do?

P.A.T.R.I.O.T.

!?!?!?!?!?!?
¿Que podemos hacer??
