Intersection’s series focusing on local independent publishing houses continues with two presses committed to providing alternative outlets for works in world literature and progressive politics and writers who have been shunned by the traditional publishing establishment, regardless of talent or future promise. City Lights Publishers (est. 1953) features novelist & technocritic Ellen Ullman and performer & cultural critic Guillermo Gómez-Peña and Manic D Press (est. 1984) features poet Juliette Torrez & story writer Jon Longhi.
