A three-day Palestine/Israel Film Festival begins Friday, July 9, at the 142 Throckmorton Theatre, Mill Valley.
An Opening Night Gala features Barbara Lubin, founder and executive director, Middle East Children’s Alliance. Screening begins at 8:00 p.m. with “Palestine Is Still The Issue” followed by “It Is No Dream.”
Sponsored by the Educational Alliance for Peace, a committee of the Marin Peace & Justice Coalition, the programs include a variety of works by Israeli, Palestinian, American, Australian, and British filmmakers. The objective is to increase awareness, present new perspectives, and encourage discussion about critical issues. Each program runs approximately two hours and includes the participation of a well-informed guest presenter.
General admission is $8.00, seniors and students under 22, $5.00. Opening Night Gala, including food, beverages, and opening night films, $35; reservations required. Saturday shows at noon, 2:30, 4:30, and 7:30. Sunday noon program is free; regular admission rates apply for 2:30, 5:00, and 8:00 screenings.
