Pics of Pro-War Protestors and SFPD Officers Controlling the Crowd and Getting Ready...
Some SFPD officers seemed really eager to beat up protestors. The pic below shows an officer that couldn't keep his hands off his baton along the march route on Market.

What's the "yellow squad"?
The pro-war guy with the T-shirt reading "I love Halliburton" is a classic. I also saw one of them with a sign with a map of the West Bank which said "End Arab occupation of Jewish land." Those slogans make me think of a bumper sticker I used to see back in the Vietnam War era that read: "Kill a Commie for Christ!"
you have just proved your idiocy. the sfpd officer in pic #1 is merely standing there with his helmet and baton in the same hand. in order to be "waiting" to beat someone up, wouldn't he have his helmet on and his baton ready for action. also, sfpd doesn't carry tear gas guns you jack ass.
First off there is no reason for an officer to be holding or fondling his baton along the whole march route, with or without their helmet on.
And secondly, what the hell kind of gun is it if it isn't a tear gas gun, a wooden baton round gun, a beanbag gun??? Someone told me it was a teargas gun so I assume it is. If you are so familiar with the weapons that SFPD carries, are you by any chance a cop? Or are you just an asshole that thinks that he knows everything and doesn't want to share?

what is the officer supposed to do leave his helmet and baton on the ground. you are an idiot.
i saw the cop in question. upton may or may not know the following, but his description is very accurate.
this cop was in charge of a squad of about 8 cops lazily flanking the left side of the march as it went down market. at one point, some "anarchists" who were masked made their way onto the sidewalk and approached someone in front of a bank. this cop noticed them and lept into action, ran up on the sidewalk in pursuit, putting his helmet on and holding baton out, clearly perturbed. the rest of his squad did _not_ follow him. he ran ahead about 100 feet.
meanwhile the anarchists, apparently unaware that he was pursuing them stepped back into the march and he ran up to the bank and looked around the corner, confused, then turned his attention back to the march and took off his helmet.
i believe this is when the picture was taken.

See the problem is that almost every cop carries there batons in their holder which is on their belt. Very rarely do you see cops not carrying their batons in their belts, unless they are about to use them, or want to remain at the ready. If your reasoning is so rational brother d-day(or sister - whoever the hell you are), than why were almost all the other cops that I saw carrying their batons in their holders on their belts. That's not to say that the cops who were carrying their batons in their belts weren't fondling them either, but this officer was taking it a little bit further than the rest of the cops I saw. Maybe the picture doesn't capture this too well, but I watched him for a while and he sure as hell seemed eager for some action of some sort and was kind of waving and swinging his baton around as he walked.
So brother d-day, are you a cop? Or just a shitty apologist for cops? Why are you so offended by my suggestion that this cop is eager to swing his baton at some folks?

Lex Luthor was right.
all i'm saying jackass is the picture doesnot show a cop waiting to beat some people up...it shows a cop standing around. but if you want to make up shit go ahead.
Whatever, all I am saying is that this particular cop seemed to be ready to use his baton. If you look at every other pic of a cop in this post you will notice that no other cop is holding their baton like this officer. If you look at my other posts from the breakaway you will notice that plenty of the cops are fondling their sticks, are holding them, and even using them against protestors. Look through the other pictures, read my comments, and then see what you have to say. If you are not convinced that some officers were baton happy on Saturday, than you an ignorant fool, and you probably weren't there either. If you were there you were either a cop or a right winger, and so you would end up in the same place you are right now...Just another ignorant asshole on the web.
"get off the internet, destroy the right wing!!!"

Upton, your comments attached to the protest photos are ridiculous. Your views are so slanted and biased that no one with half a brain would take you seriously. I am not a cop, but I read these postings on a regular basis and find misinformation like yours offensive.
You obviously only have half a brain, or only use half of your brain or less. Then again I don't really think that you even really think for yourself or at least attempt to think critically.
Actually, I am very critical. I am critical of your response to my posting. Your command of the written language is on par with that of a 3rd grader. This only adds to my initial observation that you lack credibility.
I think therefore I am. You think out loud exposing yourself as an idiot. Next time do a little research before commenting on a photo. Do not take the word of a friend who is most likely just as stupid as you.

the picture shows the piggie after he had made abundantly clear that he wanted to bust some heads, by whipping it (baton) out and running down the sidewalk after some bloc-ed up kids.
summary version: upton is right you dumb motherfucker.

Yes you are so right my grammar is probably that of the third grader, but despite my grammatical inadequacies...I actually have a UC Berkeley education and am often made fun of by friends for knowing too much about different subjects. I am a history buff and probably know more than your average person about SFPD and legal matters, since many friends are lawyers and I have been through many legal issues through the years.
I know that I often need to do more research on issues, especially police department-homeland security matters, but I also think that what I have posted above is clearly true...Though my knowledge of different guns used may be poor, since I am not a gun freak and have not yet found time to research all the crazy so called non-lethal guns added to SFPD, SF Sherriff/Homeland Security, and CHP's arsenals.
Why don't you educate me??(whoever you are) Correct my grammar and my so called flawed logic in my postings and pictures. You think that you know so much about what is actually happening in the pictures, so why not share a little bit more of why you are so right...and how you know better...If you are not a cop?? How do you know so well what these cops were doing in this pics above...Especially if you were not even there
ahhh, third grade grammar...gotta love it

I asked him, he said it was loaded with rubber bullets that day. He also said that particular gun could be loaded with almost anything.
