Building Our Movements: anti-racism, fighting corporate power and organizing for liberation
Monday, June 7th 2004 2:00 - 4:00 pm
Workshop for activists
Reclaim the Commons Convergence Space 960 Howard in San Francisco
How can anti-racism be a catalyst for anti-corporate organizing? How can white people talk with each other about racism and support each other to deal with hard issues? How is anti-racism connected to the struggle against all forms of oppression? This workshop will be led by Anti-Racism for Global Justice (ARGJ) a white anti-racist training program that works specifically with white social justice activists to examine ways that racism and white privilege undermine our movements and influence our work. This workshop is designed for white social justice activists and is open to anyone who wants to come.
ARGJ is a project of the Challenging White Supremacy Workshops. ARGJ has led workshops with dozens of organizations and thousands of activists around the country.
Ingrid Chapman, Clare Bayard and Chris Crass will be leading this training. For more information check http://www.activesolidarity.net and http://www.colours.mahost.org
