Photos from Families for Books Not Bars Lobby Day - May 20: Close CYA Prisons!

by upton sinclair (irlandeso [at] riseup.net)
Families for Books Not Bars lobbied legislators on May 20th about closing the CYA and the problems that there family members(their kids)have encountered in CYA.

The California Youth Authority (CYA) is imposing, even scary. It's easy to feel alone when your child or relative is inside. If you go to CYA, it's easy to feel alone when you get out.

But you are not alone. If you or a loved one is currently or used to be in CYA, you can join Families for Books Not Bars — a statewide network of system-involved youth and their parents and relatives. This network provides support for members while organizing and fighting for change.
