Support the Halliburton 5
Activists staged a great protest at the Halliburton shareholders meeting in Houston, Texas last May 19th. The activists who did civil disobedience now need our financial support.
Please Help the Halliburton 5 and Support Civil Disobedience in Texas

[please forward and distribute widely]
Dear friends,
Thanks to you, Houston put on an amazing protest outside the Halliburton shareholders meeting Tuesday morning. As you can see from the news stories below, we got a message out to people all over the United States that not all Americans tolerate the war profiteering and corporate cronyism that Halliburton epitomizes.
Those of us who were arrested inside the hotel were released from jail late Wednesday night. We are charged with trespassing and our bail was set at $5,000, which meant that each of us had to pay $500, mostly of our own money, to get ourselves out. We're also looking at the possibility of fines on the same scale, court costs, and attorney fees.
If there's ANY WAY you can afford to help us out and share the burden of these costs, we'd really, really appreciate it. None of us have the kind of money that we can easily spare $500 of our savings.
Thanks to those of you who have already donated to help us out. We think the civil disobedience was very successful and helped increase the level of media attention to the protest.
To contribute to jail and legal support via PayPal, go to http://www.nionhouston.net/donate.html and indicate "for Halliburton action" in your comments. To send money by postal mail, use the address given at that same site. **NOTE** - You are not contributing to NION, they are simply allowing us to use their account as a clearinghouse.
No to war profiteering! U.S. and Halliburton out of Iraq!
In peace and solidarity,
Andrea, Ken, Jon, Brandon, and Esteban
