Palestine coverage on ECR (as heard on KALX's Amandla!)
Last week, ECR was set to broadcast coverage of the raid on the Rafah refugee camp. It was postponed until tonight, at 5:30pm on KALX's "Amandla!" on 90.7FM.
Listen now:
This week, ECR interviews local Palestinian activists on the recent siege of the Rafah refugee camp, "Operation Rainbow", Sharon's decision to pull out of the Gaza strip "temporarily" and, finally, on the media's continuing poor coverage of the situation in Palestine. In fact, part of this piece was in direct response to the article recently published by the East Bay Express, entitled "The Bitter Education of Mickey Weinberg". If there are listeners that feel that this piece is weighted on the side of Palestinian struggle, they would be correct: the mass media already gives the billion-dollar campaign of Zionism plenty of coverage. ECR stands by its decision to give a voice to those who were not even approached about the article or interviewed about the work that they do, while in the same breath called terrorists.
