With much needed support from the City of Oakland, Fast4Education moved to Sacramento, California, at noon today to raise awareness about the state of California’s public educational system and to challenge Governor Schwarzenegger to implement the group’s three demands.

Supporting this act of non-violence, Oakland Mayor Jerry Brown declared Monday, May 17, “Equal Education Day.” Mayor Brown also provided transportation for the group from City Hall to the Capitol and covered monetary expenses including reimbursing the cost of the portable bathroom and returning the canopies taken by Oakland’s Chief of Police Ward.

David is a supporter and a student at UCB who provided a lot of support to the fasters along with other UCB students while they were in Oakland and the first couple of days in Sactown, and he is a good singer.

David, on the left, was originally fasting too, but had to break the fast on the 2nd day. He was also involved in the March 4 Education and went up to Sactown with the rest of the fasters to help out.
