Peace in Iraq through
Change at Home

A Presentation by RAMZI KYSIA
Arab-American Writer, Activist and
Two-year Iraq Peace Team Veteran

Ramzi Kysia witnessed the Iraq War and its aftermath firsthand. Living in
Iraq between 2001-2003, he watched as U.S. forces took control of the city
and witnessed the country fall apart in the aftermath. At the same time, he
saw a nation long obscured by tyranny and international isolation open up
for the first time in decades. During his final months in Baghdad, he helped
a group of Iraqi university students in find their voice and start an
independent newspaper - http://www.almuajaha.com. His own essays have appeared in
the Houston Chronicle, San Diego Union Tribune, Jordan Times and Common
Dreams. Kysia has served on the Board of Directors of the Education for
Peace in Iraq Center (EPIC) and worked with Nobel Peace Prize nominee Kathy
Kelly.
