Come get your soil questions answered! Understanding soil qualities and soil health will enable gardeners to grow plants that are comparable with each other and match water requirements to infiltration and drainage. Come to hear why soils differ and how they can be managed for better health. The class will touch on major soil types in the East Bay, their problems and some solutions including testing for pollutants, deficiencies, erosion and aeration. Richard Strong is a soil scientist who has been working with community gardens, home owners, and farmers for many years.
