Mass Rally to Support Kamala Harris's
Decision Not to Seek a Death Sentence!
Wednesday, May 5th
Noon - 1PM
City Hall - Front Steps
San Francisco
Join San Francisco County Supervisors, Death Penalty Focus, ACLU, Amnesty
International, Campaign to End the Death Penalty, California People of
Faith Working Against the Death Penalty and many concerned citizens to
voice your support for San Francisco District Attorney Kamala Harris's
decision not to seek a death sentence for David Hill.
Assemblyman Joe Canciamilla, D-Pittsburg, introduced Assembly Joint
Resolution 82 on April 26 in response to Harris's decision not to pursue
the ultimate penalty in the slaying of Officer Isaac Espinoza. The
resolution asks state Attorney General Bill Lockyer and the U.S. attorney's
office in San Francisco to review the case against defendant David Hill, a
21-year-old alleged gang member, to determine if intervention is warranted.
On April 30, federal authorities, led by none other than John Ashcroft,
have decided to investigate whether they will try to seek a federal death
sentence for David Hill.
Let's tell our state and federal leaders that we don't want the death penalty!
We do not believe more violence is a solution to complex social problems!
