Flag-draped U.S. Coffins, Iraqi Civilian
War Dead Black Coffins to be Exhibited
At Arden Mall at Saturday Noon Protest
SACRAMENTO – The Bush Administration may not want them exhibited, but
flag-draped coffins representing the hundreds of U.S. war dead, and black
coffins representing thousands of Iraqi civilian dead will be on dramatic
display at Arden Fair Mall Saturday.
The controversial flag-draped coffins – the photos of which the government
won't let the media show to the public – are part of a major anti-war
demonstration at the entrance to Arden Mall Saturday beginning at 12 Noon.
Activists say they may also march through the mall to honor the war dead,
and to protest the continued killing in Iraq.
The demonstration is one of many in the country this weekend against the war.
"I am sickened by how many more men and women are going to die, and how
many thousands of civilians are going to be sacrificed for a lie fed to the
American public," said Pat Driscoll, a Vietnam-era veterans, and co-founder
of Veterans for Peace in Sacramento.
