Many social revolutions produce artworks, from crude songs to timeless classics.
Our historic 2004 San Francisco Marry-In is beginning to do so.

The first fruits, in February and March, were mainly photos and features by Hearst's San Francisco Chronicle
( http://www.sfgate.com/samesexmarriage/ ),
which left queer weeklies running to stay in place.
Plus the online writings of Zak Szymanski
( http://www.authenti-city.com ).
In the crude songs bin, please see "What shall we do with a HATE Amendment?"

The second major achievement is a photo exhibit, "Just Married", ongoing thru June 30 in San Francisco Exposure Gallery, a part-time venue at 801 Howard Street, in the SOMA near 4th St., 4PM to 6PM on Thursdays and Fridays, and noon to 5PM on Saturdays. Also showing on "Gay Pride Day" (?), June 27, a Sunday, 9AM to 5PM, trying to compete with the big LGBTIQ Pride Parade and the clothing-optional Pride festival
( http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/c/a/2004/04/10/DDGM662C751.DTL ).
Also please see (http://www.ExposureGallery.org).
[Suggestion by SUN: Since this exhibit consists of easily-copied JPGs, the gallery should print a duplicate set of hardcopies, and exhibit these on June 26 and 27 at the Pride festival site; rather than hoping celebrants will leave a fun party in the Civic Center area and trek six blocks to 801 Howard. (Too expensive? Ask Pride to find a sponsor.) ]

In the future, we'll see nonfiction anthologies, those zine-like books by which queer trends and sub-communities explain themselves.
Karen and Melody are "putting together a book called SPOUSES FOR LIFE, which will feature the stories and faces of the gay couples who were married in San Francisco." They're "looking for same-sex couples to tell us their stories and help us document this historic event of first same sex marriages!" For info, please visit the couple's website (http://KarenAndMelody.com/spousesforlife.html ).

Do you know of any other art/literary/etc. projects related to the Marry-Ins?
