4/13 Conference Call to Plan IMF/WB Actions

This is a call for local and out-of-town activists to facilitate planning
for direct action on Friday, April 23 protesting the World Bank and IMF
(calendar of days of action here below). The intention is to share
information on who is interested in participating and to agree on a time
and place for a physical meeting (proposed date is this coming Sunday).

World Bank and IMF destruction : Festival of Resistance!

LOCATION : Begins and ends at Franklin Square – bounded by 14th, 13th, I,
and K Streets, N.W. (Nearest Metro: McPherson Sq). Festival at park.

DESCRIPTION : Come out come out, the people call the World Bank and
IMF to Answer with Resistance and Noise!

We know what they have done:
-devastating women
-decimating health care
-destroying the environment
-dismantling labor rights

A Cacerolazo is an Argentinean from of protest where people take to the
streets with pots and pans to call attention to injustice. The
mobilization for Global Justice is calling for people to come to
Washington DC April 24th for a Cacerolazo and Festival of Resistance. The
goal is to be loud, be strong and show the profiteers of global economic
destruction that another world is possible! We know where they are and
we're bringing the protest to them! Join the Cacerolazo! Take to the
streets of Washington DC, the homes of the corporations that profit off of
World Bank and IF policies then on to the World Bank and IF!

Here is a short outline for Saturday, April 24th:
-Assemble at Noon: McPherson Square, K and 15th St. NW
-Short Rally
-Cacerolazo, bring your pots pans, bells, whistles, signs, banners,
and drums whatever. -Festival of resistance: Festival of social
justice games, music, poetry, spoken word and soap box speak out.
-Food provided by Food Not Bombs. To help or donate food, contact
