5-7pm

SF Environment’s Eco-Center
11 Grove Street @ Hyde
(at civic center bart)

Hors d’oeuvres & Drinks

It’s Tax Day; Everyone must pay their share … yet Dow Chemical continues to ignore its responsibility to the survivors of the disaster in Bhopal and refuses to clean up the facility that has contaminated the community and caused death and disease for over 20 years.

Join the Bhopal survivors as they kick off a tour of the US to bring attention to the continuing struggles of the Bhopalis as well as to raise awareness about corporate responsibility, persistent poisons, and environmental justice. The tour will culminate at Dow Shareholder’s meeting in Midland, Michigan where there will be a vote on a shareholder resolution to hold Dow accountable.

The Board of Supervisors will honor the struggles of the Bhopal people and their demand for corporate accountability by Dow. The Bhopal delegation will speak about their experiences and the organizing campaign for the 20th anniversary year of the disaster.
